Good roads and short distances offer an excellent opportunity to explore the beauties of Slovenia by car. Please note that travelling with your own car requires buying a car VIGNETTE for using the highways (AMZS Site). The vignette can be bought on the border crossings or at petrol stations all over the country. A one-week vignette can be used for short visits. In Slovenia it is obligatory to have the day-lights turned on during the day.
Some participants from foreign countries may require a visa to enter Slovenia. Please note that Slovenia is a part of the Schengen Area. You are encouraged to apply for a visa as soon as possible. The time frames for visa processing are difficult to predict with accuracy for any individual applicant and could vary significantly depending on the country of residence of the applicant. You need to contact the Slovenian consulate in your country (or the consulate of another country that may handle visa applications for Slovenia) and enquire about the necessary documentation to be provided.
Prior to contacting the Organizers, check the information on the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Please read the following infromation for detailed information on visa regulations (website) and the detailed guide for visa applicants (website).
If you need a Letter of Guarantee for your visa application, please do not forget to indicate this when registering for the Conference. A Letter of invitation or some other document may be obtained from the local Organizers (University of Ljubljana, Faculty of electrical engineering upon request). But please contact ANTANA PCO Agency first with your request. In order to be sent a letter of invitation, the participation fee must be paid first.
Please note that a Letter of invitation is not a guarantee that a visa will be granted. Applicants for a visa must still demonstrate to the authorities that they qualify for a visa individually based on their own merit.
